In 2009, we had the first edition of our TALENT IN AUTISM SHOW, this event is our annual event designed to provide a platform to exhibit amazing and wonderful talents and skills of children living with Autism at PSLC, and raise funds to run the program at the centre to benefit families and individuals who cannot afford to pay for the much needed services. Till date, some individuals with autism are enjoying the benefits from the outcome of this programme.

The concert has been of great help in developing the innate talents of our children, giving us adequate information on the direction their future vocation is likely to embark on.

 

Patrick Speech and Language Centre  in the last two years had organized series of trainings for parents, siblings, teachers, therapists as well as caregivers of children with developmental challenges.

These free trainings covered all areas of autism spectrum disorders such as

* Autism and Differentiated Learning

* Autism and Inclusion

*Behavioral Management

* Communication and Listening Skills

*Diet and Nutrition

*Hone School Partnership

* Independent Life Skills

* Mental Health for families (learn to prepare a healthy meal for your family with no MSG)

* Nutritional Support for Healthy Living

* Self-help Skills

*Sensory Processing Disorder and Motor Skills

* Social Skills Development in Autism Spectrum Disorder

All these trainings exposed the participants to how these individuals can be helped to make functional use of their skills.

A lot of families have benefitted and are still benefiting from our training program, as it is a continuous program.

We will not relent in delivering qualitative training programs to all our parents and professionals that are working with individuals with developmental disorders.
